In April 2002, I graduated from,” The UK School, of Professional Toastmasters“, which resulted in me, becoming the “First Female Toastmaster in the Northwest”. My decision, to become a Toastmaster, seemed a natural progression, after having worked at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, in London, luxury charter yachts in Monte Carlo and P & O Princess Cruises, in America. In both situations, I was fortunate, to meet many people of different cultures and backgrounds. Being in the, “front line”, I felt comfortable, confident and totally in control to deal with any eventuality.

After being featured on a BBC Northwest, “fly on the wall”, documentary, I was presented to, Her Majesty The Queen, at Christies Hospital, in my full toastmaster regalia. As the Northwest’s, first Lady Toastmaster, my services were also required in London, for the wedding of a BBC Sports Producer to a television actress, which was a wonderful experience. I have also officiated at many varied social functions throughout 2002 /2006, as well as many more formal and informal occasions.

Having the title, "The First Female Toastmaster in the NorthWest" certainly has its advantages. I starred in a three minute fly on the wall documentary, produced by BBC NorthWest, of how I broke into this very male dominated profession.
"The Manchester Evening News", with many local Newspapers, covered my story, in their Friday night edition. In October 2002, the editor of "Cheshire Life", wrote a similar article.
